Snow Days, Wedding Dresses, and One Freezing Bride

written by Aubrey Troutman February 12, 2018

I can't feel any of my fingers!

Luckily we had some beautiful gloves to add to the look.

I had wanted to collaborate with Holly on her Bridal portraits for a little while now, and it just turned out that our timing was perfect! The night before our recent snow here in Concord, NC a joke came up about doing Holly's bridal portraits in the snow the next day; however, we don't really like to "just joke" about awesome things around here. Sure enough, we were in for a pleasant, snow filled portrait session the next day!

Taking photos in the snow is a little trickier than every day greenery, and sunshine. As the photographer you have to keep your camera temperature regulated, along with setting up for such bright lighting and colors! David and I hadn't photographed in those conditions before, but we were more than pleased with the result. Holly, on the other hand, had the harder job. Somehow she managed to still pose beautifully despite her lack of a jacket, and strapless bridal gown, wet from trudging along through the snow.

The picture to left is a behind the scenes look at on of the shots you can see in our photo gallery from that day! We'd love for you to go check them out.
