Wagons, Suitcases and Hats…a Shoot From the Past

Looking at it now, we could almost call this shoot a hand-me-down session.

David and I were walking into Goodwill the night before taking photos with little Brantley Allman. I was hoping to stumble upon some new props, and sure enough I stumbled upon one of me favorite finds. In the bottom of the luggage stack in the far corner of the store sat an old, gray, box-style suitcase. We wiggled it out from under the pile, and I knew right away it was just what I was looking for. The top had a quirky pattern, and the inside was lined with red satin. It wasn't perfect, but I liked the used vintage feel to it.

The next day Ashton, Brantley's mom, arrived with a truck-full of props as I came trudging across the grass with my suitcase and other things in tow. In her mix of odds and ends sat an antique Radio Flyer wagon, an old wash-bin, and a hat that was Chris's when he was little. In my head, I knew then we were going to have an amazing group of photos; you can't go wrong with things that already tell a story of their own.

Brantley's photos were the perfect mix of old and new, would you like to see the rest? View Brantley's full gallery.
